One Hand Clapping
During the winter of 2007-2008, I wrote twenty-one poems based on photographs by Victor Romanyshyn---Maine landscapes, seascapes, birds, and Victor's still life compositions. They are presented here in the order written, attempts to hear voices in silent images. To really see and hear, you have to get small, get yourself out of the way. The prints became like zen koans, the project an unexpected movement toward freedom, poems like footsteps. The Author: Grew-up in and around Brooklyn, Queens, Manhatten and the Bronx. It usually doesn't work that way. You pick a burough and claim, 'that's how its suppose to go'. But some of us grew-up on the 'A' train. What it reads like: 'Willie Perdomo, Suheir Hammad, a lot of West-Indian Dancehall, and Big Pun; mixed in a blender' My Notebook - Journey with Mary
This is the copy of my notebook since spring of 2006. When I started writing in my note I was living in San Jose, CA, I did not know I would end up continue writing entries in Europe. If you want to peek someone's notebook - like someone writing in the park or outside, this is for you to satisfy your curiousity. Remember These Moments

The Ballad of the White Horse On The Road To Dharamsala
Same content as previous contribution, pdb format. On The Road To Dharamsala
These poems follow the ones in Straight Walker. Most of them were written in Dharamsala, at the edge of the Himalayas where the Dalai Lama and many Tibetans are rebuilding their lives, preserving their culture in the midst of traditional India. India is humbling and inspiring, dirty, dangerous, cheap, gorgeous, crowded, and intensely human. Thank you for reading these, for being there, too. JMW
