EBook Description: Pascal (as referred to on this site) is a computer language used to create applications for computer use. Like C/C++, Java, and many others, it is not intended for one particular operating system. As a compiled language, in order to use it, you need a Pascal compiler. All of the lessons on this site were created using, and tested with, Borland Delphi. With just a few modifications,, the programs in our lessons should be possibly run on most compilers.

When writing this book, we wanted to provide real-world Windows Forms coverage for programmers who've programmed in .NET�and those who haven't. To that end, we briefly introduce core .NET topics as they come up. However, we don't pretend to cover the .NET Framework completely. It's too large a topic. Instead, when we think more information would be useful, we reference another work that provides the full details. In particular, you'll find that we've referenced Essential .NET, by Don Box, with Chris Sells, a great deal, making it a good companion to this book. In the same category, we also recommend Advanced .NET Remoting, by Ingo Rammer, and Applied Microsoft .NET Framework Programming, by Jeffrey Richter. XSL: The Complete Guide

The Extensible Stylesheet Language (XSL) is a formal Recommendation put forward by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) as a language for expressing stylesheets. It complements the Extensible Markup Language (XML) by providing the methods for formatting content written in XML. One of the major goals of XML was keeping content and its semantic markup separate from its formatting, so that formatting could be applied independently. XForms Essentials

Like XHTML, SVG, and RSS, XForms is an XML-based language written with tags that can be identified by surrounding angle brackets. (XML purists perfer to call these elements) Learning XForms is largely a matter of understanding what individual elements do, as well as how they interrelate. One difference is that XForms provides several more elements than form authors might be accustomed to. As a result, several tasks that would have otherwise required complicated scripting can be accomplished declaratively, just by putting the right elements in place.
