Simply Maya 3D Exterior Set Design: Creating a Fantasy Landscape is a tutorial that contains a lot of NURBS modeling so you will learn how to work with isoparms, hulls, CV's, lofting surfaces and Maya's curve tools. This is a fast way to generate a lot of geometry in a scene which is then converted to polygons for adding details and refining the models. Date Added: 10/2/2011 11:17:00 PM | Visits: 34017 |
Character Modeling in Maya: This making of demonstration and lecture began with the decision to take a personal sketch, develop it in 3D and produce a life-size print. This would require the development of high-resolution detail and textures that could hold up to a 4000x6000 pixel render, effectively making Jester a film-res character. Observe and listen as Alex shares his workflow, thought process and techniques. Date Added: 10/2/2011 11:16:21 PM | Visits: 33194 |
Introduction Hypershade in Maya: This training product is designed for anyone who needs to learn about shading and surfacing, as well as using the Hypershade to work efficiently and easily in Maya. Taking you step by step and explaining how to use the Hypershade and how to create shader networks in terminology anyone can understand, this training product covers many aspects of working on materials and shaders with in-depth lessons that cover both basic principles and fundamentals, as well as production workflows and methods of trouble shooting issues that can appear during an actual production. Digital-Tutors: Maya Modeling Reference Library: Each video in this course is a self-contained lesson centering on one of the commands found in the Proxy menu in Maya. This means that these lessons can be viewed in any order you wish, allowing you to jump straight to the content that is most relevant to you. Over the course of these lessons, we'll take a detailed look at each of the Proxy commands and how each of them can be used to speed up our workflow. Fundamentals MEL Programming Techniques: In this two-disc set on MEL, Kevin Mannens introduces the rich possibilities of Maya s Embedded Language. With over ten hours of lecture, Kevin creates a well-structured foundation for Mayas scripting language. Through an in-depth look at what goes on under Mayas hood, he leads you to a firm understanding of commands, syntax and procedures. Based on real-life production examples of MEL scripts, the second disc of this set delves right into advanced scripting methods. By carefully dissecting every line of code in an existing script, you will learn about each command, Kevin s scripting workflows, tricks and common pitfalls. Finishing a Car Animation Render in Maya and Composite: In this series of lessons well learn how to take a basic render scene and add textures, render it and composite it into a finished shot. We'll be covering all the steps needed to take a plain render and make it better. Date Added: 10/2/2011 11:05:24 PM | Visits: 32619 |
Creative Development - 3D for Illustration in Maya and Photoshop: In this course, we'll learn how to create a 3D illustration for use on a magazine cover. Over the course of these videos we will learn how to efficiently model by only modeling what we need and how to reuse basic base meshes as starting points. Then we will look at how to efficiently UV map, looking at techniques to quickly produce distortion free UVs. Then using Ambient Occlusion bakes as starting points for our textures we will look at a efficient and repeatable texturing process. We will then look at how to pose our characters, setup shaders to replicate advanced effects such as refraction and sub-surface scattering, before setting up render passes and layers for compositing. Finally we will bring it all together in Photoshop using our layers to composite and adjust our image before looking at some final techniques to complete our 3D Illustration. Digital-Tutors Finishing a Car Animation Render in Maya and Composite: In this series of lessons well learn how to take a basic render scene and add textures render it and composite it into a finished shot. Well be covering all the steps needed to take a plain render and make it better. Well begin this project by creating a procedural dirt shader for our ground cover. Then well hop into Photoshop to create a photographic texture for our road. Well then add some detail using more procedural textures to break up the edges of the road and create a broken concrete feel. From there we will set up a particle system for our tires and create render layers and passes. Finally we willcomposite our shot using the Maya Precomp feature and Maya Composite. Well learn how to color correct our passes add various blurs and composite everything together into an integrated shot. Date Added: 10/2/2011 11:02:26 PM | Visits: 34270 |
